British Airways has just announced a new
airfare sale from all its US gateways to London. Tickets are on sale from now through midnight (Eastern time) on Thursday 19 Aug.
Fares range upwards from $498 roundtrip from
New York (either JFK or EWR) to London (plus taxes of about $186 but no
extra fuel surcharges) for travel commencing 21 October – 19 December.
If you'd prefer to travel in late summer/early fall, then rates are of
course somewhat higher (eg $680 from New York) for travel commencing 2
September – 20 October.
In addition, British Airways is also
including one free hotel night in London (if you're traveling by
yourself) or two free nights if you're traveling with a companion.
The hotels are nothing fancy, but do include breakfast each morning, and
with London hotel rates soaring once more, this is definitely an added
value item.
Fares are $30 higher each way if traveling
on weekend days, which BA defines as Thursday – Sunday. I wish I
had four day weekends!
