2021 Danube Christmas Markets Cruise & Tour

Come visit the glorious European Christmas Markets, in gorgeous settings, and with a great group of fellow Travel Insiders, this December.

With declining or stable Covid numbers in both the US and Europe, and with just under two months between now and December (meaning less chance of something unexpected changing the current situation) we think it possible to realistically offer our great Christmas Markets tour.  This is essentially the tour we’d offered earlier in the year then canceled due to the surge in Covid cases in both the US and Europe and uncertainties about travel feasibility.  With those challenges now behind us, we can more confidently return to this lovely tour/cruise.

We simplified the earlier tour, to maximize the positive experience and with fewer wild-cards or dependencies, traveling through Austria and Germany.  We’re basing it on a new river cruise itinerary, plus a simple pre-tour extension in Vienna or Prague.  If you’d like to spend a few days in Prague prior to the cruise, we’ll help you with that, and it’s an easy 5 hour train ride (with no changes of train) from Prague to Vienna.

The blue line shows the route along the Danube for our cruise from Vienna to Nuremberg.

If time is short, you can go straight to the ship in Vienna on Saturday 11 December, but it is better if you arrive a day or more earlier, to allow for any possible flight issues and to give you time to unwind after the journey to Vienna.  The cruise ends in Nuremberg on Saturday 18 December, at which point you can return home, or continue your travels in Europe.  Whichever you choose, you’ll still be in time to wrap all the gifts you’ve surely purchased while enjoying the Christmas Markets and all the amazing gift and shopping opportunities they offer.

Enjoy fine dining choices onboard Amacerto.

The main cruise portion is on Amawaterways’ Amacerto, one of their lovely modern boutique river cruising ships, with the usual generous abundance of inclusions.

Discounted prices start at $3198 per person, depending on your cabin choice.  Full details are here, and a lovely day by day itinerary shows you what to expect and enjoy, here.

We expect some people will be back for their second or even third Christmas cruise and tour with us.

The Christmas spirit and tradition fills the ship, too.

Whether it is your first, second, third, or even fourth time, you’re sure to love the itinerary, the experiences and places, and the great group of Travel Insiders you get to share it all with, while simultaneously avoiding the worst of the crazy pre-Christmas rush/crush back home.

We hope to share this lovely pre-Christmas celebration and cruise with you!  See you in December…..

Come and join us on this lovely pre-Christmas experience in December.
